99% Women workforce

Siddhadevi tea estate predominantly employs a female workforce and is a stride towards gender inclusivity and equality in a traditionally male-dominated industry. With 99% of its workforce comprising women, Siddhadevi Tea Estate has not only opened doors for employment but also created a supportive environment that champions gender diversity and empowerment.

Local women farmers are generally provided training in tea plantation, production and harvesting to the local women and onboarded hundreds of women farmers to the workforce employing them and encouraging them to earn their own livelihood.

Developing Rural Ilam

Siddhadevi tea estate remains a s beacon of hope for the local residents of Phakphokthum, Ilam as it has placed an essential role in jumpstarting the rural economy. The tea estate provides a steady stream of employment for women whose husbands have immigrated abroad in search of foreign employment helping them generate their own livelihood.

A special initiative has been taken by establishing schools for the children of the local families who are employed at Siddhadevi tea estate.
